Dr. Dr. Elisabeth Roider, MD, PhD, MBA
Elisabeth Roider, MD, PhD, MBA, is an internationally trained physician-scientist, entrepreneur, and Principal Investigator at the Department of Dermatology, University Hospital Basel, where she leads the Roider Lab. Her research focuses on translational dermatology, pigmentation biology, skin cancer, and preventive and longevity medicine, integrating molecular and cellular approaches with human clinical studies. Her work has resulted in high-impact publications, patents, and multiple spin-offs. As an active clinician, she deeply understands patient needs and systematically translates clinical challenges into scientific questions and scalable, commercially applicable solutions. She is convinced that meaningful and sustainable medical innovation requires close collaboration between academic research, translational science, clinical practice, government, and industry.

Dr. Grzegorz Sarek
Greg Sarek, PhD, co-leads the Skin Biology Lab in Basel and is an industry-minded translational scientist with experience spanning pharma, biotech, and academic innovation hubs across Switzerland, the United Kingdom, France, and Finland. He has held leadership roles in both large pharmaceutical organizations and biotech/start-up settings, bringing a strong track record of driving research programs from early discovery through late preclinical stages. His work bridges fundamental biology and product-focused development, with contributions published in leading journals including Nature and Molecular Cell.
Dr. Oneda Leka
Oneda Leka, PhD, is a Research Scientist at the University Hospital Basel with over ten years of international research experience in molecular and cell biology. Her work focuses on protein biochemistry, protein–membrane interactions, and human-relevant experimental models, with strong translational relevance to disease mechanisms and therapeutic development. She has held research positions in Italy, Switzerland, and industry, and is a first author on multiple high-impact publications.

Nina Frey
Nina Frey is the Scientific Secretary at the Roider Lab. She supports the team in funding administration and oversees key organizational processes. In addition, she coordinates general administrative tasks and manages the lab’s social media presence. With a structured and proactive approach, she helps ensure smooth operations across projects and daily lab activities.
